Jeff Kamikow | Could Mobile Represent 75% of Internet Use Next Year?

Where do you access the internet? Mobile advertisers like Jeff Kamikow are banking on the idea that you will access the web on your mobile device. And they have figures to back up their case. According to a new report released by Publicis’ Zenith unit, it forecasts that 75% of all internet use will be on mobile devices in 2017. This is up from 68% this year. It also estimates that this number will creep up to nearly 80% in 2018, which is more than double the number in 2012.


If that is the case, Jeff Kamimow and other mobile advertisers will be very busy. The report forecasts that 6o% of all internet advertising will be mobile advertising, and the total number for mobile advertising will reach $134 billion, which means it will be more than print, billboards, and other OOH advertising combined. The report looked at sixty countries nationwide. Spain was number one in the percentage of internet use through mobile devices at 85%. This was followed by Hong Kong, China, and the United States.





With this in mind, there will be no slowdown in mobile advertising in the very near future. In fact, the complete opposite will be the norm. Companies will need to make mobile advertising their number one priority, creating advertisements that best reflect how users access the internet and view their branding. They will then need to create a cohesive mobile advertising campaign that includes website advertising, social media advertising, and video stream advertising to best reach potential customers in different situations as they access their brand.

Is Facebook cool again? Nobody knows for sure, but the social networking giant is certainly still making a lot of money. Its money is coming in the form of mobile advertising. In total, there are about three million advertisers on Facebook. There are about another 500,000 advertisers on Instagram, the photo-sharing social media platform that Facebook owns and made open to advertising last year. Facebook made over $17.9 billion dollars last year. According to Mashable, 84% of that came from mobile advertising.

There are so many new ways to create an engaging ad and track that ad’s traffic to determine its success. If you are new to advertising on Facebook, you might not know where to start. Try Out Different Designs: Going with your instinct is fine with a lot of things. With mobile advertising, it’s best to give yourself several options. If you find that you are doing the same type of ad all of the time too, don’t be afraid to mix it up. If you’re bored with an ad, so is your audience.



Add a Testimonial to Your Ad: One of the easiest ways to convince your audience to try your product is by providing evidence in the form of a testimonial or statistic that highlights your product’s or service’s capabilities. Try to include at least one proof in every ad that you do.

Use a Call to Action: This is essential. When a user is given the option to view an ad, he or she should know what will happen next if he or she clicks on the ad. A call to action answers this question and sets the audience’s expectations.

Include an Image that Catches the Eye: On a Newsfeed, your ad will be facing a lot of competition for attention. Jeff Kamikow would tell you that you need an image that will draw their attention. Try a high quality image that is relevant to the text and elicits a specific emotion. Obviously, don’t be too provocative though as this could cause your ad to be rejected.

Jeff Kamikow | Why Mobile Ads Are Getting Shorter

Have you noticed the ads that you see when you browse the internet on your mobile devices is getting shorter? This is no accident as brands are trying to create better engagement and get their message across. As Jeff Kamikow would point out, brands are always changing the way they advertise to appeal to the public.

Mobile devices have caused users to have a much shorter attention span than they once did for other platforms. In fact, the average mobile user will have an attention span of as little as eight seconds. However, at the same time, it should be noted that mobile users are experiencing more within those eight seconds. They have a laser-like focus where they can gather what is happening and make a quick decision on whether or not they want to continue viewing the content.


This is the reason why so many people are installing ad blockers on their phones to prevent marketers from targeting them for specific ads. It is also why they’re conditioned to find the X button as soon as possible. However, as many researchers point out, there are still many opportunities out there, and many brands have made a point of creating 5-6 second ads that can engage users. So far there has been limited success here, but this should be a major focus for marketers in the years to come.

As Jeffrey Kamikow would say, you have to give the public what they want. Today, it would certainly be shorter ads that they can consume as quickly as possible to get back to their content.

Jeff Kamikow | Is Mobile Advertising in a Boom?

TechCrunch believes that we’re on the verge of another major boom in marketing through mobile. Is this true? We’re probably already there. The writer of this article compared what we’re seeing in mobile advertising right now to what happened in the dot com bubble.

Here mobile advertisers threw a lot of money out there to try and attract new customers, but the number of customers and an understanding of the level of advertising needed to get a conversion weren’t there. The money began to run out, and, as a result, website advertising would trend downward for several years until the mid-2000s.



We are experiencing  another boom right now for mobile advertising. Users are accessing web pages and especially apps now more than ever before. In addition to that, brands are devoting more of their dollars to mobile advertising than web advertising too. Jeff Kamikow and other advertisers believe mobile will be the present and future of advertising for some time. Are they right?

Yes, probably,  but the current model will not be the way that happens. Advertisers are too focused on app-install ads as pointed out by TechCrunch, and they are spending too much money to get people to install their ads and keep using them. Unfortunately, a user may try out an app for a week before moving on. Instead, Jeffrey Kamikow and others in the mobile advertising industry will need to focus on integrating app and mobile advertising with other channels to create one holistic marketing scheme.
